Rams Declaw Panthers

Grayslake Central Rams defeat Round Lake Panthers 47-6.

Seeking to renew what is one of the oldest rivalries in Lake County, Coach Goshe, in his fifth year at the helm of Grayslake Central, scheduled Round Lake as his first opponent of the season.

Last year the Rams were 6-5 and made it to the Sweet Sixteen before falling to Marian Catholic. The Panthers were 1-8 last year and looking to show improvement under fourth year Head Coach John Coursey.

The outcome of the game was decided early as the Rams jumped to a 14-0 1st quarter lead and then extended it to 34-0 at the half. The Panthers played the second half as if they were up 34-0, which is a credit to Coursey and his coaching staff.

With the many subs getting playing time for the Rams in the 4th quarter, Round Lake snapped the shutout on a nifty 44-yard run by the Panther Quarterback. The 2-point conversion failed.
